Many people rely heavily on the advice of their attorneys, CPAs and financial professionals and will not make major decisions without first conferring with them. The goal of cultivating relationships with advisors is to bring them closer to your mission and educate them about planned giving techniques.

How to Engage Professional Advisors

  • Ask them to serve on your board or planned giving committee.
  • Ask them to serve on estate planning seminar panels.
  • Invite them to attend planned giving seminars or webinars hosted by your ministry.
  • Send them articles or newsletters with current charitable planning topics.
  • Invite them to speak at special functions.
  • Invite your regional gift planner to present to your donors. Many donors find value in explore gifts with a regional gift planner who can offer a confidential space for them to explore their legacy giving.
